We are looking for an experienced IT Asset Manager to proactively manage IT assets, software licenses, contracts, and data center resources, ensuring the availability, performance, and continuity of IT infrastructure.
In this key role, you will be responsible for compliance, planning and the optimization of the technical IT infra environment, ensuring that infrastructure continues to meet both current and future business needs. This is a versatile position requiring a strong combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Job description
Your role is structured around four main areas, each contributing to the stability and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure.
License Management (20%)
You will be responsible for managing software licenses, including Microsoft subscriptions and on-premises licensing, Oracle, VMware, Apple, and other software vendors, monitoring software acquisitions, renewals, and retirements, ensuring license compliance and validating software usage and requests.
Contract Management (20%)
- Managing support and maintenance contract renewals.
- Monitoring contractual commitments, service costs, and vendor performance.
- Contributing to the preparation of technical specifications for new procurement processes.
- Ensuring suppliers comply with technical requirements and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Data Center & Infrastructure (10%)
- Oversee the day-to-day management of data center facilities operated by external partners.
- Coordinate maintenance and operational activities.
- Assess physical infrastructure requirements, including power, cooling, and rack capacity.
- Manage the installation, relocation, and decommissioning of IT equipment.
Capacity & Asset Management (50%)
- Manage the complete lifecycle of hardware and software assets.
- Coordinate the retirement, redeployment, or resale of IT equipment.
- Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and ensure the Configuration Management Database remains up to date.
- Optimize asset utilization and manage hardware stock levels.
- Prepare and monitor CAPEX and OPEX budgets related to IT infrastructure.
- Forecast infrastructure capacity requirements over a 1- to 4-year horizon in close collaboration with the Architecture team.
- Ensure compliance with IT equipment standards and the corporate IT service catalogue.
Required experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Engineering/Business Administration with an IT specialization, or equivalent through relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure, capacity planning, IT asset management, software license management, and vendor contract management.
- Solid understanding of data center environments, ITIL processes, IT asset inventories, and CMDB management.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft, Oracle, VMware, and Apple licensing models.
- Experience preparing and managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, including virtualization, storage, databases, and Windows-based systems.
- Languages: French , Dutch and English
- Highly organized, structured, and detail-oriented.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities with a proactive approach to optimization and long-term planning.
- Able to work independently while taking ownership and responsibility.
- Clear communicator who enjoys collaborating in a professional and approachable manner.
